47 Columbia Avenue was built in 1921. It's a classic Rehoboth style beach cottage. The house has three bedrooms, two baths, living room, dining room, kitchen, and a wonderful screened porch. It's well-furnished. This isn't a rental full of junky, second-hand furniture.

Most old beach cottages have screened porches. Most of the new houses don't. Their loss. I often wonder why people come down to the beach and then insist on sealing themselves inside with air conditioning?

Period rattan furniture form the basis for this comfortable, unassuming living room.

Yeah, the fireplace works. Nothing better than sitting beside a roaring fire and sipping some whiskey during a Nor'easter.

The kitchen isn't fancy, but it seems to suit everyone just fine.

The dining room seats six comfortably and eight okay if you serve enough wine.

Bedroom 1 is on the first floor and contains one double bed

Bedroom 2 is upstairs and contains three twin beds

Bedroom 3: one double bed and two twin beds

The outdoor shower is simple, yet invigorating after an afternoon on the beach.

The backyard is perfect for afternoon sun and cocktails.
